bamboozled

so bamboozled has been in my Netflix queue for years. i'm not really a fan of spike lee, & most of his work goes over my head, although I do enjoy school daze way too much. basically bamboozled is the producers with a minstrel show instead of Springtime for Hitler. sounds funny, right? i'm 10 minutes in & already hating my life choices. damon wayans is annoying normally but he(spike?) decided he should do a mousy high pitched "white guy" voice that is like nails on a chalkboard. i can tell its going to take a lot of time to get through this movie :-(  also it looks like it was shot with an iPhone

later:
Michael Rapaport is a fool!
Damon Wayans is SO distracting, he really brings the whole movie down. the role should have been played more realistic. we get it, its a comedy, no need for him to act like a cartoon.

even later than that:
spike lee's movies always have disappointing endings. this would have been much better as a straight up documentary since the old footage was the best part. despite the(many) flaws, i have to recommend bamboozled.
