finally getting around to watching "Bessie" the movie about blue singer Bessie smith starring queen latifah. she was perfect in chicago so I wasn't surprised that she would be amazing in this also. Mo'nique is great as well, unfortunately she was branded as an "angry black woman" & now will never star in an a-list movie again. sucks that all the nonsense Bessie & ma rainey had to go through 100 years ago("tough on black @sses", indeed) is STILL happening to black performers today.
