macbeth

last night, i went to an afi screening for "Macbeth" starring Michael fassbender & marion cotillard. I think there should be a law where fassbender has to be nude in all his films for the next decade. despite not having any full frontal, it was ok & shot beautifully. i don't know If I can recommend it, though. the audience laughed at a couple of dramatic parts, some famous lines were cut out, & marion seemed distracted(maybe due to the "Scottish" accent). I guess I was expecting more? idk. its hard to mess up Shakespeare.

update: been thinking about it & could not figure out why I did not like this version. i guess marion was too soft & Jessica Chastain probably would have been perfect as lady macbeth
