I was walking home late a couple of nights ago when I thought of kitty Genovese. she was the woman raped, screaming, murdered, while no one helped her. a neighbor opened his door, saw what was happening & went back to sleep. kitty is the reason why we have 911 today.
6 decades later & the streets are still not safe. someone asked why "true crime" tv shows were primarily watched by women. a woman replied that it was like "doing your homework for when you are attacked/raped/killed". :-( I used to love those investigation shows but her answer turned me right off of them.
